Under consideration PE2290: Expand provision of Gaelic Learner Education in all Scottish local authorities

Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to expand the provision of Gaelic Learner Education in all Scottish local authorities so it ensures that all young people have the opportunity to learn Gaelic regardless of where they live. Expanding provision would make learning Gaelic more accessible across the country for all learners.

Background information

I am creating this petition as an MSYP (Member of the Scottish Youth Parliament) for East Lothian after consulting with my young people in East Lothian and across Scotland. I believe that your postcode should not play a role in the language that you learn. Many young people across Scotland want to learn Gaelic but have told me that the lack of provision across constituencies has created a barrier to having the opportunity to learn.
